Total Body Enhancement At Planet Fitness – Does It Work?

Imagine this: a device that glorifies over weight loss. Cellulite deduction. Wrinkle reduction. And all you have to do is stand always. Display too good to be true? The Total Body Enhancement appliance at Planet Fitness makes this insistence – and better. My gym-loving, science nerd self (who also glorifies a scrap of cellulite and wrinkles) liked to see if these claims had any reality.

So, I researched and bought the machine for a few months. Here’s my story and what I realized about the Total Body Enhancement machine.

SO, IT IS ALL BEGANED WITH THE MEDIA. I was scrolling via Instagram stories because that’s been my favorite distraction recently, though I’m enraged with Instagram for clipping users’ engagement spans and, accordingly, swallowing the blogging industry.

LONG LIVE THE WRITTEN WORD!

As I scrolled through the daily IG “story” of an elite persistent athlete I respect, I saw a boomerang video of her clutching my (short) lookout in a red-light treatment bed. Instantly, I thought of the “Total Body Enhancement” gadgets at my local Planet Fitness.

But Heather, I Thought You Hated Planet Fitness.

Let me follow up likewise. As it spins out, Planet Fitness is less terrible of a location than I once suspected. In-depth down, I always wholly support locally possessed, little gyms that do not have a “no determination” dual standard, first and best.

Suppose you have understood me for a while. In that point, you’ve definitely seen one of my tirades over their “lunk” transaction campaigns and the reality that they have prestige for singling out and overlooking fit people, booting you out if they feel your outfit is too “rough” and getting rid of squat stands and rich free significances because bone-head “links” use those. I’ve also snarkily remarked that for years, their office was found directly following a Chuck E. Cheese (we passed it on the path to Portland, Maine, numerous times per year).

But I’ll be the first to stand up and say, I’m sorry, Planet Fitness. I was wrong.

I became a Black Card partner at the Myrtle Beach PF process a year ago to appreciate activities alongside my friends. And think what? It’s not wrong. In particular, my regional gym (Myrtle Beach) is still excellent and clean, the team is friendly, and if we’re being honest, the “no judgment location” ideology spreads to everyone at this place, assuming even the highly fit ladies confidently sporting leggings.

THEY GIVE YOU FREE PIZZA.

Speak all the smack you like, almost pizza in a gym, but THIS ultra page believes it’s great. There is ZERO guilt in my pizza round. All of that, and I can bring my spouse (or anyone else, but he is my choice) as a “visitor” as multiple times as I like for $20 a month. I’ll handle it.

But I stray back to the Total Body Enhancement machine. So this Instagram Elite athlete (it was Amelia Boone) reminded me that with my Planet Fitness ebony card membership, I gain free hydro massages (yay), free tanning (tell no to skin cancer), and free usage of the Total Body Enhancement machine, which I’ve never troubled putting a foot in. I understood it included red light treatment bulbs, but that was the period of my ability. But now I was intrigued. If excellent, persistent athlete Amelia operates red light therapy, perhaps I should too (I’m such an innocent). So, I did a small online study.

About The Total Body Enhancement Machine

The Total Body Enhancement machine, also known as the, is a booth that uses red light therapy bulbs (non-damaging, non-UV rays) united with a beating plate to enhance you magically. What does that thought do for you? Well, nonscientific, non-reputable references (aka, I googled) came back with the following potential benefits:

Possible advantages of utilizing the Total Body Enhancement Machine:

  • Promotes the discharge of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), providing you with better power before training.
  • Stimulates collagen and elastin presentation, therefore improving skin elasticity and decreasing ruffles and stretchmarks
  • Declines cellulite
  • (brace yourself for this one) Ignite small voids in your overweight cells (?), firing the petroleum into your body so you can boil it off more quickly (??)
  • Promotes blood discharge to the forces, helping as an acceptable introduction before a training
  • Benefits: reduce inflammation in muscles and joints.

Is The Total Body Enhancement Too Good To Be True? Maybe. Probably.

I explored some additional respected authorities with the help of red light therapy, where I discovered some scientific and citable lawsuits, such as:

One research was achieved to determine the effectiveness of red light treatment for abdominal fat loss. Effects discovered that mixing three wavelengths of red light therapy declined abdominal girth in 100% of subjects.

In another analysis trying the effectiveness and security of red light therapy on wrinkle removal, groups dined with red and white light-emitting diodes saw the wrinkle size in the skin enhanced, particularly from baseline at Week 12. The red LED group indicated better progress, but no statistical disparities lived.

And, perhaps my multiple selected chunk of knowledge that this page slipped upon

“Photobiomodulation (operating red or near-infrared light to encourage, recover, and restore injured tissue) can improve post-training muscle gathering profits while decreasing rash and oxidative tension in power biopsies.

As you can notice, there may potentially be real benefits of the Total Body Enhancement machine for an athlete with constantly aching muscles, a minor additional butt cellulite, and stretchmarks. The inquiry of the study is whether the wavelengths utilized in the analyses are the same radiated by the bulbs in the Total Body Enhancement machine. Your guess is as correct as Wellspring’s.

Total Body Enhancement Review

Keeping following the direction of every socially combined athlete in 2018 (conferring with strangers in a Facebook group about their adventures with the machine), I chose to participate in the Total Body Enhancement machine privately. After studying at my provincial Planet Fitness, the front desk girl gave me a room for my Total Body Enhancement knowledge. She gave me zero teachings, excluding “room 13”, and stepped out.

I joined room 13 and shut the door behind me. The stall looks identical to the stand-up tanning mattresses I employed when I was 19, living in chilly Vermont and craving the summer sun. I have NO IDEA how this machine operates, and there are NO teachings.

The room was short sufficiently that I couldn’t reach a good picture of this device, so here’s one I towed off Yelp:

Do You Wear Clothes In The Total Body Enhancement?

I read in one study that a team member advised another user to obtain an utterly bare inside of the machine, but it’s 30 grades out, and this is Planet Fitness. There’s a lock on the door, but…eh, no thanks (says the girl who runs naked 5 K’s for fun).

I determined that carrying off my shoes, stockings, and tank top would be sufficient. I was not provided with any goggles nor questioned if I had any. I cleaned the room for alerting signals around eye security and noticed nothing but infrequent disclaimers stating that the Total Body Enhancement machine operates non-UV-emitting, secure lights. So I stepped into the room, closed the door, and shot what I think is the beginning control.

Which Buttons Should I Press?

The room yells to life and instantly overwhelms me. But after a few seconds, my eyesight changed, and I could notice just fine. I’m still determining if this is secure, but we are all a science (or Darwinian) analysis of one. I’ll correct you in the future on whether I wake up with poor eyesight. Aloft, lovers swiftly shift the air about me, and an exclusive, unaffordable wine pub atmosphere is established by the soft tones of New-Age music recreating from overhead. An indistinct woman’s voice reminds me to do something, but education remains a secret. So intrinsically, I start pressing buttons.

Again, I always try to figure out what’s occurring or what she’s telling me. I shot a book button, and nothing was modified. The control panel doesn’t give a level of homework or anything, but I’m beneath the belief that there are different levels of…training. I’m not actually sure what to call it. The vibrating plate beneath my floors begins off at a morning yet modest level.

Vibration Plate

At some juncture, perhaps three or four minutes in, the faint lady’s spokesperson informs me (I think) that the warm-up part of my experience is over, and the pulse plate unexpectedly moves into overdrive. It makes similar parts laughable and threatening, and as such, I go through phases of laughing hysterically and shutting my eyes, ready myself not to potentially toss-up because I’m being shaken vigorously like a contained salt shaker.

The “mom” in me wondered if all this vibration that came to my chair was good for my brain. The logical “adult” in me remembers that I’m not a budding infant and cannot surrender to shaken baby syndrome. So instead, my awareness is drawn to how much my ass is jiggling (hint: it’s surprising a lot).

Again, it was laughable and terrifying.

WILL IT GET RID OF MY CROWS FEET?

Once I got utilized to the vibrating plate, which, for the document, shifts and changes*-9/ as it moves to Target (and when I express Target, I suggest jiggling) and different parts of your body, I appreciated it. When comforted, I could feel how the beating plate can improve blood flow to your muscles, reducing them and operating as a sufficient warm-up. It is basically handled like a massage. The red lights were not hot but warm, which was also welcome pre-workout.

Now, Planet Fitness argues the vibrating plate benefits work your muscles. While the plate clearly pushes A LOT, it doesn’t move in a method that would throw me off proportion, therefore working my glutes, hips, waist, etc. So unless you can shake your muscles into form, you are better off clinging to the weight room.

Planet Fitness says the vibrating plate allows you to work your muscles. While the plate positively impacts A LOT, it doesn’t move in a method that would pitch me off credit, therefore performing my glutes, hips, core, etc. So unless you can virtually surprise your muscles into the figure, you are more suited to clinging to the weight room.

After twelve minutes, the lady I hardly listen to tells me my session is accomplished (I think); the lights rotate off, and I step out of the room and back into the room, somewhat chaotic and uneasy about what happened.

So I get wrapped, arise from room #13, and complete a 90-minute training.

Initial Thoughts

One session in the Total Body Enhancement isn’t sufficient to inform you if I’ve had any favorable results (for the record, the effects I’m hoping for are increased rescue from activities…but a tinge of period mark lowering wouldn’t hurt). But I will tell you that, if nobody else, my Total Body Enhancement adventure was extremely delightful…and warm. I actually valued the warmth. And therefore, I’m going to operate it again.

I’m getting sunglasses next time.

Two-Month Total Body Enhancement Results

Many of you have requested an update, so I hope to supply one. To provide some location details, I’ve been using the Total Body Enhancement machine for two to three periods per week. I selected setting “4” because the vibrating plate touches my painful legs especially. It’s like a massage, only highly cheap. Here are some differences I’ve seen about my body over the last two months, with some critical notes*.

Since I Started Using The Total Body Enhancement 45 Days Ago

My Skin Feels Better

Smoother, maybe a tiny tighter, and I feel short like an old hag when I accidentally see the sight of myself in the mirror. Nobody in my everyday skin maintenance regimen (which I’ll be the first to recognize is essentially nothing) has transformed in the last 45 days. But I also quit consuming alcohol, began drinking more water, and started making more nutritious food options 51 days ago. Remember when you were little, and your grandma advised you to swallow more water? Is it good for your skin? SHE WAS Correct.

I’ve Lost A Few Pounds

But except for the healthy food practices (see above), I’ve taken some time off from long-distance running. Instead, I dove headfirst back into heavy and constant-force training. I’ve also (awkwardly) brought up yoga. I manage to fall a few pounds whenever I switch my muscular focus. My body required a break from the horrendous mileage I had demanded of it as of late and is answering totally to the reduction in pressure. Further, weighty lifting tends to steam far more calories three cheers for excess post-exercise oxygen consumption. Incorporate that with more nutritious eating choices. Weight loss.

I’ve Dropped Body Fat And Increased Muscle Mass

3% body fat, in fact. But…please see overhead. Healthy nutrition options, lots of moisture, and a focus on creating lean muscle mass. Ladies (and gentlemen), let me tell you once again: if you want to drop body fat and improve muscle mass, for the love of all things, LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS. Ladies, you won’t “bulk up.” I swear you won’t bulk up. You require testosterone to do that; our bodies do not sufficiently create it.

The Red Light Therapy Makes Me Happy

I’ve got no other reason for this one. When I was younger and more mindless, I visited tanning beds. Not repeatedly, but we all know how difficult those UV rays can be. I would still leave the tanning mattress glowing…not just my skin but also my mindset. The warmness and the light touched so good. It genuinely made me happy. I have identical side effects from the Total Body Enhancement but without the harmful UV rays. It’s been a welcome 12 minutes of bliss during this cold, dreary winter.
